Overview
Faith Journey ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the Faith Journey mobile application.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account and use the app:
- Email address — used to create your account and send transactional emails (e.g. password resets, email confirmations).
- Password — stored securely and hashed by Supabase. We never see or store your plaintext password.
- App usage data — including which verses you have saved, your journal reflections, folder names, daily completion status, and your login streak. This data is tied to your account so it syncs across devices.
- Language and theme preferences — stored locally on your device.
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Create and manage your account
- Sync your saved verses, reflections, and progress across devices
- Send transactional emails (password reset, email confirmation)
- Track your daily streak and devotional milestones within the app
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or profiling.
Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database and authentication platform. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plaintext.
Transactional emails are sent via Resend, a trusted email delivery service. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering these emails.
Our backend API is hosted on Railway. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store sensitive information beyond what is required to operate the app.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone. We do not share your data with third parties except for the infrastructure providers listed above (Supabase, Resend, Railway), who process it solely to provide the service.
Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account directly inside the app. Go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. This will immediately and permanently delete your account and all associated data, including saved verses, reflections, and progress. This action cannot be undone.
You may also request account deletion by emailing us at support@faithjourneyapp.com. We will process the request within 30 days.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data (email, saved verses, reflections, progress, and streaks) is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Some anonymized, non-identifiable data may be retained for operational purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data (available directly in the app)
- Update or correct your email address
- Receive a copy of your data (data portability)

International Users
Faith Journey is operated from the United States. Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Railway, Resend) store and process data on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal basis for processing your data is the performance of a contract (providing the app service to you). You may contact us at any time to exercise your GDPR rights.
Children's Privacy
Faith Journey is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
